生物动力法正式诞生于1924年，而提倡应用这种新观念来看待农业的是身为哲学家、研究者以及人智学-也就是人类智慧学的创造者鲁道夫斯坦纳先生。
它的理论依据来自一种对待宇宙的整体观，宇宙被看作是一个超越其全部组成元素总和的整体。坚持这种理念要求我们在创造人与自然、以及一切生物与宇宙的和谐关系上付出努力。与环境的深刻关系使得我们放弃了合成矿物肥料以及化学农药的使用，从而促使我们通过日常监管来精心照顾这些葡萄园。土壤被施以混合肥料，粪肥、酿酒残余、沤绿肥、生物动力药剂以及使用生物种子混合物的植草法管理。这些措施通过提高土壤中的生物活性使土壤变得更加有活力，从而使植物以更加健康的方式成长。葡萄树的管理是以一种预防病虫害并促进自然保护的理念来实施的。我们在土壤中施以低剂量的铜与硫磺并混合海藻与各种植物的萃取液、自然矿物质成分的抗寄生虫药剂，并创造“性别混淆”的环境以抑制葡萄园中的昆虫数量。
管理措施是根据宇宙与月亮周期来进行的；通过配合宇宙的律动我们得以扩大这些措施的效果。
